Event design dos and don’ts

I have been in hospitality for 20 yrs but I am very new to the Event world so I have learned alot trial and error. M first big lesson was you can not do everything. I hire help. I actually learned this first hand for one of my babyshowers.I was the decorator the chef the bartender and the Planner and the staff needless to say I drop the ball in several areas. The decorations were put up late we left the serving utensils and silverware the cakepops were late we didnt have cups or ice. The food was late and when it arrived it was cold. The guest were overall pleased in the end but I did what was needed to make the event a good one but it was not the way I wanted to present my company that I was newly building I needed as much positive feedback as possible. I did learn alot from that disaster pay others who are good at what they do to collaberatley make an amazing event. I will include some of my favorite vendors In the Atlanta Metro area and Washington Dc area.
